Some towers have found a new niche that seems to be paying off, property cleanup and restoration. All vehicles are required to have liability insurance but
many do not have collision. If a vehicle without collision insurance goes off the road, down in a ditch, through trees and requires a lot of time and equipment
to retrieve we often get stuck with a worthless car and no way to get paid. The way I understand it is that if you don't charge for a recovery of the
wrecked vehicle but instead bill the car's liability insurance for clearing "debris" from the property, public or private, you can now require
the insurance company to pay. Some companies are going as far as restoring the property that was damaged by the incident and charging for it also. They smooth
out ruts, remove broken trees, seed and straw.
Have you tried this at your company?
If not, are you willing to try?
Can you offer more info on how to best succeed in making the insurance company pay up?
Imagine getting paid on all wrecks? Imagine if every fourth or fifth person got to walk out of the grocery store without having to pay for their things? That person that did not pay for their goods or services would be locked up. Why do they get away with stealing when it's a wrecker service?
