This story hit close to home as I know Warren Driscoll who was the tow truck driver who was hit, I have heard from him and he is good but in pain. He is black
and blue by his own description. I am relieved that he is ok, its just close to all off us as this is our problem we are facing, traffic moving by us as we do
our jobs. I am also glad and suprised to hear that instead of the normal drunk or distracted driver involved, that it entailed a mechanical failure. But I am
sorry to hear about the driver who had called orginally lost his life in the accident, and as I understand it from Warren the driver had time to yell run as
the accident was happening . Heroic actions by him helped save a life.

PALM CITY - A tractor-trailer driver died Friday evening after he ran out of gas on Interstate 95 and was hit by a second truck that blew a tire as it passed his parked rig, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
An employee of a wrecker company who delivered fuel to the scene also was hit and seriously injured. He was taken by helicopter to St. Mary's Medical Center in West Palm Beach, but his condition was not available Friday night.
None of the names was released late Friday.
Florida Highway Patrol troopers said the tractor-trailer driver and wrecker employee were walking or standing beside the rig stalled in the northbound breakdown lane north of Palm City around 4:30 p.m. when a box truck blew a rear tire, ran into them and overturned in the right lane.
The box truck driver was taken to Martin Memorial Hospital South, but his injuries were not life threatening, troopers reported.
A small car also ran off the road after hitting debris in the travel lanes, but that driver was not hurt, troopers said.
Northbound traffic was stalled for hours because of that crash and a subsequent three-vehicle pileup a few miles south. None of the injuries in that crash was life-threatening.
Here is a picture of Warren and me taken at the Florida 2006 tow show. Helps to place names with pictures.
