Friend of Museum	Tags : None Ok, I have seen on other sites requests for contact information about motor clubs. This information is lacking on the web without great searchs involving lots of work and digging... So here is the information which I have created over the years... Some of it also was from other places. Feel free to add your contacts to the lists, reps do move around from time to time. Plus at times these go out of business or move locations. If its outdated or out of business then feel free to make mention of that and I will delete it or change the information.. Lets provide a service here that is needed.. Friend of Museum	this list will also include tire service companies and heavy duty break down services for more potential information to towers who are looking for more markets to service. There are now 4 pages of information here so you might have to dig a bit to find the club you want. A good reputation is more valuable than money. After all it is hard to get contact information on the multitude of auto clubs and roadside assistance programs out there... I am just wanting feedback as to the continued uses of this section of the board... Keep it or not is really the question here... "To be honest, I'm more worried about what the government can do to me than what they can do for me."

Posts: 8 01/02/08 22:17:11	My two cents - I'm not big on giving newbies the MC contact information. Why? Because for the most part they will run out, contract with every one at the rates they offer and assume they will make money. At the same time they tend to neglect the profitable retail work since they are "busy" running the MC calls. At the least a list needs a disclaimer "MC's will often offer a rate that is marginally profitable, or actually unprofitable. Treat the MC like any other rate negotiation, with the acceptable rate based on your costs and necessary profit margin, not simply based on the amount offered". I will say for the record, that I was one of the people that ran out and contracted with all the MC's. I became so dependant on the MC's and their high volume that I nearly went out of business when a large MC and I parted ways. At that point I was 5% or less retail work. Today (2.5 years later) I am 75% or better retail work, and the MC work that I do averages near my retail rates. I work much less, costs are down and I sleep all night, every night.

Thanks I like to make contact with the clubs just to see where they are at .....and maybe someday they will want a great tow company to get there people off the side of the road in a timely manner and tow there car DAMAGE FREE.... Posts: 5 11/07/09 17:00:59	Wow, what a contact list... I did read the comments and I realize what you are saying about the people just going for the business even if it does not make a profit.. But can motor club work be good along with regular towing?? I am trying to get more business and I think that it would help me keep the trucks busy.
