I do teach some seminars each year but they tend to be in the Southeastern part of the US since that is where its easy to get around and to the locations. I would like to know what parts of the rest of the United States you would like to see a seminar or what tow shows you would like to have one held at.. Now part of this will also entail people expressing interest to the associations or show promoters about wanting a show. I have places I would like to present seminars and beleive it or not, I send out letters and flyers each year to the associations and show promoters. But I get very little interest or requests for information back.... How can I get more interest or bookings for seminars??? "To be honest, I'm more worried about what the government can do to me than what they can do for me."

Posts: 148 11/01/11 10:40:04	Richard, remember that you are dealing with tow operators. They cant seem to get along with each other much less something new or strange to them. In my state we have a hard time getting members for the association, but no one has a hard time asking for information or help when they feel that something is wrong. I am saying all this because it is at the core of the problem of getting operators and owners to associate with each other. It is easy to be friends and share info with someone far away, but almost impossible to get along with the competitor across town. As for your program, it would probably work better at the bigger shows that draw people from a wide range of different locations. I would love to have it presented here, but participation would minimal at best. By the way, how is the book progressing? Steve

Now as to the book, lets just say that its on revision 9 now (was number 8 till about 2 weeks ago when questions got asked here) Do not worry, I have firmed up the plans for it to be done by 2057 at the latest (that gives me something to live to be 100 for !!!!! ) Just have to add some stuff for Air Cushions now as that section was not very clear. Do it live, folks all across the web sign up, pay you, attend, ask questions, etc. All may view & listen - questions are typed and sent to you live so you can respond to all. Maybe make the recorded webinars available on demand - pay one price and your whole company can learn. Not live - but useful - still hear answers to others' questions. A lot of industry-specific trainings are done this way. Probably need to come up with a workbook or test or something. Break it up a little. Then put together a collection to sell as a training package. CDs, book, workbook, test/certification. Add an administration section (office procedures, dispatching, what information to gather - how & why, forms, filing). Add a technology section (what's available, pros/cons, how to use it, in my other job a company came up with an industry-specific add-on to quickbooks - all the accounts already setup, etc - $99 a pop). The sky's the limit. And all from the comfort of your living room! I've been looking. Can't find anything like this out there.

Posts: 148 11/04/11 09:43:36	2057 leaves me out. I am older than you and i wont ever last that long. However I would like to make a profit from towing at least once in my lifetime. It's not really quite that bad, but there is a lot of room for improvement. I would like for my pair of rotatators to get what they are worth without having to explain every detail on every wreck.
