D&D Drive Away was passing through our town on I-85. They had a tandem curtain side box with an F-450 in the box while towing another tandem box truck with some jacked up home-made tow bar. The language barrier prevents us from knowing exactly what happened. In a nutshell they hit the brakes, couldn't stop. The front truck broke away from the back truck, flipped over the guardrail and landed on its side with the F-450 hanging out the side of the box. The rear truck jumped the end of the guardrail and "surfed" it for about 100' before stopping just inches before a CSX bridge.

D&D is insured by Canal Insurance. Canal is denying the claim based on the fact that they had the wrong drive away tags on the wrong trucks. That's correct, the tags were current, they had drive away insurance on them but Canal claims the tags "were used improperly". We have requested a written letter of denial twice from Canal and they refuse to provide one. D&D wont respond to us but the company who handled the environmental cleanup got a hold of them and they said they've hired an attorney to go after Canal. We have sent it to collections but have stopped short of filing a lawsuit as of yet.

I guess that despite D&D ignoring us I still have a little soft spot for them because they did have the proper insurance but their insurance company are scumbags. All three trucks are in our next auction, lets see how we make out.
