CONCORD - Additions that strengthen New Hampshire&#39;s &quot;Move Over&quot; law take effect Aug. 5. The changes provide additional protection to public
safety personnel by specifying that motorists are required to slow down and give clearance to stationary vehicles displaying blue, red or amber emergency
lights at the scene of roadside any emergency or incident.
<br>
The state&#39;s &quot;Move Over&quot; law took effect in 2005. The changes, which were passed in the 2008 legislative session, are intended to include tow
truck operators and highway workers by specifying amber warning lights in the requirement to yield during highway breakdowns, crashes or other incidents.
Forty-four other states already have similar legislation.

<p class="SectBody">      1.  Upon approaching an authorized emergency vehicle which is stopped and is making use of flashing lights meeting the requirements
of subsection 3 of <a target="_blank" href="http://www.leg.state.nv.us/NRS/NRS-484.html#NRS484Sec787">NRS 484.787</a>, the driver of the approaching vehicle shall, in the
absence of other direction given by a peace officer:</p>

CHEYENNE, Wyo. - When first-responders arrive on scene at traffic accidents, their concerns often are focused on more than the potential victims or vehicles
involved.

For Karl Zunker, Laramie County Fire District 10 chief, that concern was validated Wednesday when he was struck by a tractor-trailer while responding to an
accident on Interstate 80.
<br>

Zunker was in the process of blocking an off-ramp when his vehicle was struck from behind by a tractor-trailer traveling at an estimated 50 mph.
<br>
&quot;I got about halfway up (the off-ramp), and every lighting device on the truck I had on, and was just getting ready to start backing up when I got
hit,&quot; Zunker said.
<br>
Although his vehicle absorbed most of the impact from the accident, Zunker suffered injuries that required him to spend the afternoon in the hospital.
